Winter Wonder Man

“Mannnnnn, you look like that singer!” I’d already started rolling my eyes before he could stop snapping his fingers... jump-starting his memory. “Maxwell! That’s who you look like.” I quipped, “I can assure you, I cannot sing.” He smiled, ear to ear, with... no teeth nor happiness concealed.

I shoved my hands deeper into my jacket, seeking refuge from snow.

He continued. “Say, Max........Can you spare me a few dollars?” Ah. There it was. I was disappointed...I didn’t have any money. “Sorry, bruh.... I don’t have any cash,” I said...bummed, while I shrugged.

Guilt began to tap my stomach.

“O man!! My CashApp is dollar sign Henry Connie ($HenryConnie),” he grinned while rubbing his chin as he spelled it out. I let out a BELLY laugh. “It’s on its way, Uncle Henry,” I said while savouring his...adaptability. “Everybody’s got to evolve, young blooood,” he replied, the wisdom in his words were not lost on me. We bid each other Merry Christmas, gifted each other pounds and said farewell . He then went his way and I went mine.
